I have 365 days to get married or at the very least, engaged. It sounds like a lot of time, but as we know all too well, a year can go by in a flash.
The past year, 2009, was awful. The stock market tanked, I got fired, and then the worst thing of all happened: mom died. She never got to see me walk down the aisle or find my soulmate. She never got to have a son-in-law. She never got to experience me as truly happy and in love. It's a regret that I will always have, but there is nothing I can do about it.
And while I can't change the past, I can fiddle with the future. I can stack the deck by doing everything in my power to meet "The One." Whether that means talking to strangers, online dating, accepting blind dates and fix ups, posting an ad on craigslist, hell...even wearing a Tshirt proclaiming my availability, I am ready, willing, and able.
